Mizzen MCP terms of use
End-user license agreement for Mizzen Tax's private QuickBooks integration.
Last updated September 16, 2026
About Mizzen MCP
Mizzen MCP is a private integration operated by Mizzen Tax to support authorized accounting, bookkeeping, reporting, and related client work using QuickBooks Online. These terms govern access to and use of the integration. The individual authorizing a company connection must have authority to act for that company.
These terms supplement the applicable engagement agreement with Mizzen. Connecting the integration alone does not create a professional-services engagement, expand an existing engagement, or authorize work beyond its agreed scope.
Permission to use the integration
Mizzen grants authorized users a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable permission to use Mizzen MCP for the agreed services while the engagement and connection remain authorized. Access is limited to companies and information the user is entitled to access. Users must not share credentials, access another client's company without authority, resell access, or use the integration unlawfully.
Your company retains its rights in its data. Mizzen receives permission to access and process that data only as needed for the authorized services, applicable recordkeeping, and the uses described in the privacy policy.
QuickBooks access and record changes
Connecting a company through Intuit authorizes the integration to access that company's accounting information within the permissions granted. Intuit's accounting permission can support both reading and writing data. Each company is connected separately.
A connection or request for analysis does not, by itself, authorize changes to the books. Mizzen requires specific instructions for record creation or updates. Where changes have not already been specifically requested, Mizzen will present the affected records, proposed changes, accounting rationale, and financial impact for authorization before performing them.
Mizzen MCP is configured without delete tools. The firm's operating instructions prohibit deleting, voiding, or purging QuickBooks records through the integration. Authorized changes are checked by retrieving the affected record and reporting the result.
AI-assisted work and review
For client information, the integration is restricted to Mizzen's ChatGPT Business and Claude Team workspaces, including Codex or Claude Code when accessed through those workspaces. Relevant information may be sent to OpenAI or Anthropic to perform the requested work, as described in the privacy policy. Personal workspaces and voluntary sharing of client material for model training are outside the authorized use of this integration.
AI-generated results can contain errors or omissions. Mizzen's workflow requires review appropriate to the work being performed, including checking material conclusions and specifically authorizing changes to the books. Generated output alone is not a filed tax return, assurance opinion, or authorization to make payments or change records.
Client responsibilities
You are responsible for having authority to connect the company, providing accurate instructions, promptly notifying Mizzen of changes in authorization, and reviewing matters that require your approval. Inform Mizzen of restrictions on the use of your company's information before the integration is used. Keep your QuickBooks credentials secure and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
Third-party services
QuickBooks is provided by Intuit. Its availability and your use of it remain subject to your agreement with Intuit. Other service providers have their own applicable terms. Mizzen MCP is operated by Mizzen Tax and is not represented as an Intuit-endorsed product. Use of open-source components does not transfer ownership of those components or change their licenses.
Disconnecting and ending access
You may revoke the connection using QuickBooks' connected-app controls or contact Mizzen for assistance. Once authorization is revoked or the engagement ends, Mizzen will discontinue access and processing for the discontinued service, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations. A later connection requires renewed authorization.
Disconnecting does not reverse previously authorized transactions or automatically delete previously created reports, working files, or provider conversation histories. Requests concerning retained copies are handled under the privacy policy and applicable recordkeeping requirements. The underlying books remain in QuickBooks.
Availability, fees, and other engagement terms
The integration may be unavailable because of maintenance, connection expiry, provider outages, or API changes. Mizzen does not promise uninterrupted operation or error-free generated output. Any fees, service commitments, responsibility allocation, and dispute terms are governed by the applicable engagement agreement. These terms do not create a separate subscription or new charge.
Changes and contact
Mizzen may update these terms and will identify the effective date of the revised version. Material changes to authorized data use or access will be communicated before they take effect, with additional authorization obtained where required.
